James Hannah

Service Centre Manager

I joined WPA in early 2014 so have been working here for nearly 5 years.

I work in the London Service Centre which is based in Oxted, Surrey
The thing I like the most is helping to deliver WPA’s goals and ambitions. This is made more enjoyable by the people that I work alongside, not just in London but nationwide.

Kevin Lewis

I previously worked as a flat roofer at another roofing contractor , I started works for weatherproofing as a flat roofer on the tools and progressed to a Contracts manager

I like new challenges and learning all the different aspects of roofing and as a manager I get to work on all the different types  of roofs and projects

Outside of work I Like to socialise with my family and friends  and even though I am getting on a bit I still play 11 a side football ,I enjoy watching football especially my team Bolton Wanderers 😊

Lucy Grinham

Purchasing Manager

I joined WPA in July 2018, I am coming up to my year anniversary.

Before I joined WPA I was a PA for 3 directors within the motor industry. I was based in the car showroom on a daily basis helping with the day to day running of the business. I also supported one of the directors with his property development company.

I like that my job is different every day, I have such a variety of things to do. I enjoy organising and arranging so my role is perfect for that. I have recently taken on an the office manager role on top of purchasing manager and am enjoying the extra workload. I’m learning every day.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my son, friends and family. I love live musical so am always at concerts or festivals.

Rob Smith

Contract Manager

Diane Pagram

Operations Manager

Tryfan Edwards

I have worked as a Surveyor for Weatherproofing Advisors for almost 2 years.

This is quite the change of career for me – previous to this role I was a Sport Science Lecturer

The variety of the job is great, one day you will be having meetings in Canary Wharf the next taking survey photos of a Crematorium!

I have three young children that keep me busy on weekends, but I do try and plan playdates for the Children when the Six nations is on!

Becky Pennington

HR Administrator

I have worked at WPA for 17 years.

Before joining WPA I was an assistant buyer for Mothercare clothing.

What I love most about my job is helping managers overcome issues and problems.

Outside of work I love spending time with my family, going on holidays and playing netball twice a week.

Clare Wood

Office Manager

This is my 19th year at Weatherproofing.

What I like most about my job as Office Manager is the variety of work involved, each day can offer something different.

Outside of work I enjoy spending family time with my husband and children, socialising with friends and going to evening boot-camp classes throughout the week.

Damon Smith

I started working for Weatherproofing Advisors on 1st July 2019 so still quite new to the business but fitting in well and really enjoying it.

I am a qualified surveyor in remedial treatments and worked for a large independent domestic roofing company as well as Peter Cox property services prior to that.

I really enjoy that my daily routine has such a wide ranging variety of work, from a roof replacement on a large industrial building to coating a walkway or car park with everything else in between. Also, meeting different clients as well as working in the North East area.

James Turner

Operations Director

I am the National Operations Director and I opened the London Service Centre in January 2012.

I am based in the London Service centre but have a National responsibility to all five of our Service centres.
Aside from building relationships with clients and staff, my greatest intrinsic reward is when we refurbish a complete building, transforming old to new.  I like bringing a “new build” quality and expectation to the refurbishment market.
I have ridden from London to Paris on three separate occasions for a Leukaemia charity and this year, 2019 will be my fourth time.

Richard Parr

I have been a surveyor with Weatherproofing  for 3 Years.

Before joining Weatherproofing Advisors, I was employed for 20 years as a roofer for a local company in new build and re-roofing projects.

No two days are the same,  each survey will take you to different towns & cities and incorporating all types of buildings from petrol stations to power stations & retail units to listed buildings.

You  get to meet new people in varying roles adding extra variety to the role.  And if I do encounter any unknowns,  I have a fantastic team around me who will help find the answer, which makes it a joy to come to work.

Outside of work I like to spend my free time socialising with family and friends. Doing anything outdoorsy is a must as long as it’s not raining.

Nic Brady

Contract Manager

I have worked as a Contracts Manager for Weatherproofing Advisors for 2 years.

Prior to starting my career with WPA I had spent 15 years working in construction on a self-employed basis and was involved in a variety of projects including The Shard in London Bridge to restoring the Cutty Sark in Greenwich following the fire that almost destroyed it and on completion was invited to attend its reopening by the Queen!

I have been involved in a projects as small as fitting a domestic kitchen to fitting out a brand new 5 star hotel in Knightsbridge, London.

Working with WPA has presented me with new challenges and opportunities in equal measure.

I enjoy over coming the challenges that come with working on roofs in often equally challenging environments.

At WPA I have the opportunity to work and develop as an individual while having an excellent team behind me in support. WPA have, and continue to invest as much in me as I invest in WPA, constantly providing training at a variety of levels and I am looking forward to continuing to grow as an individual with WPA as my career develops.

Working on roofs with a company like WPA gives the opportunity to travel the country and see and experience places often hidden from public view, it often amazes me the things that can be seen from a roof top!

When not at work I try to experience everything that is available to me from Jet Skiing and Clay pigeon shooting to Sushi making lessons and walks in the countryside (stopping at pubs along the way!).

I have also recently enrolled in training to achieve my motorcycle licence ticking off a childhood ambition!

Dee Rosewarne

Office Manager

I’m Bristol’s Office Administrative Manager  (I started 7 Jan 2019) and I am new to the industry as my background is 16 years in the glass trade as a Commercial Manager/Acting Branch Manager.

I love the challenge Bristol office offers – new branch, new starters and having the opportunity of learning a whole new business.

I have 6 grandchildren who keep me busy in my free time and my partner of 20 years is a professional poker player!

Rich Cunningham

Contract Manager

Shane Hodges

I joined WPA the beginning of April. Previously I was on the tools doing flat roofing on commercial builds and schools etc all refurbs.

What I like about the job ……….the prospects of going forward in the more technical side of the industry. Seeing what work goes into the running and management. Being able to go all over the south west and wales looking at sites and offering my knowledge on overcoming problems. Meeting new people, learning new things and I suppose not being wet or cold anymore!

Ben Orton

I joined WPA in 2015, where I started as a roofing operative, within a year I become a site supervisor, which shortly after I was promoted to contracts manager, which I have now been doing for two and years.

After serving in the armed forces for five years, I took a career in the roofing industry, specialising in sheeting and cladding, which I have now done for 13 years.

How long you’ve been here :  I joined the business in September 2018.

What you did previously : Aside from running my own traditional roofing company for 8 years, I have held several senior construction sales and National account management positions with leading building product manufacturers.

What you like about the job : In my role, I am responsible for the development of new business, as well as looking after existing clients. Like any business development role, I get a kick out of seeing the service centre develop and grow, knowing that I have contributed.

Outside of work : I have 2 children, so my spare time is generally spent playing silly games. I enjoy all forms of sport and motorsport, as well as walking and generally being outdoors.

Matt Hill

I have been with WPA since January 2017 and have seen the company grow from strength to strength.

I previously worked in the Pest Control industry, where I most enjoyed designing and installing Bird Proofing systems. In 2011 I fulfilled my ambition to gain a Degree in Architecture.

I enjoy my role as Surveyor at WPA, as I get to meet with a wide variety of clients in some very interesting buildings. Every roof is different and I enjoy the challenge of finding the right solution to meet the client’s needs. I strive to gain more technical knowledge through experience and training and WPA have provided tremendous support. A great company with good ethics and the team get on really well at the numerous social events.

Outside of work I have a wife and a young son. I met my wife at school (we have been together since 1995), we got married in Thailand in 2012 and our son was born in 2014. As a family we enjoy music festivals and holidays abroad. I play guitar and drums when I can to blow the cobwebs off, but I also enjoy the occasional 5K run to stave off the beer belly.

Andrew Grieve

Business Development Director

I have worked for Weatherproofing Advisors  for 13 years.

I have worked in the roofing and cladding industry for 22 years in various positions with 4 different organisations across the UK.

There is nothing better than seeing your colleagues succeed and taking that happiness home. I have always believed that if we are content, happy and fulfilled in work life then our families reap the same reward.

Outside of work I love spending time with my family, and my daughter really enjoys paddle boarding. (My wife tends to avoid the water and walks the dogs on the beach). When I get the opportunity I enjoy running and cycling and typically compete in a number of events year on year.

Emily Fox

Key Account Manager

I started with Weatherproofing Advisors 2 years ago where I started as a Contracts Facilitator, in a short space of time I moved into Account Management and dealing with all customer service for the office.

I previously worked for a digital recruitment company as an Office Manager.

I like the variety of my job, every day is different and I get to interact and communicate with different people each day. I work alongside colleagues who are always supportive and encouraging in what everyone does and that makes it enjoyable to come into work. I am always given the opportunity to express my own opinion and I think that is very important in the workplace.

Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym and socialising with friend and family.

Zack Arkle

Contracts Supervisor

San Khan

I have been working as a Surveyor for Weatherproofing Advisors for 3 months.

Prior to working here I sold coffee for myself which including launching my own coffee label

The people make everything easier, more exciting and altogether ebullient. Good advice, good atmosphere and good work ethics.

Outside of work I am a Father to 3, husband to 1, and my own coffee label. Overweight but still charming!

Alan Harvey

Service Centre Manager

I have been at Weatherproofing Advisors for almost 7 years.

I am the Service Centre Manager for our Rainford Centre – I initially joined as a senior Contracts manager.

My role as service centre manager offers me diversity and challenges throughout all departments of the service centre / company. I get a great deal of satisfaction, particularly with being involved with projects from initial tender to completion of the project regardless of size or value.

Outside of work I am very much a family man and absolutely love doing anything with family and friends. And my main enjoyment other than family is very much Liverpool FC.

Anthony Hogan

I started to work for Weatherproofing Advisors in November 2016, so I’ve worked here for two years and eight months.

I studied Architecture at university and worked for a single-ply membrane manufacturer for over three years prior to moving to Weatherproofing Advisors.

I like to interact with clients, try to understand their needs and propose the optimum solution to whatever problems they have with their building.

I’m an Evertonian and football fan, though I’m not sure that the two go hand-in-hand…

Jess Nicola

Small Works Manager

I joined WPA in Oct 2018 as the Small Works Manager.

I worked  at KMC as the first admin support that the Founder of the company had ever had. I was responsible for creating and implementing all of the admin functions and structure throughout the business. It was an amazing role and gave me a lot of confidence while learning how to wear many different hats.

WPA is a great place to work. The business has been growing organically which has created a really great culture. I’m able to grasp my own responsibilities without the fear of being micromanaged which I sometimes felt in my previous roles.

I have a 5 year old son who keeps me very busy with his sports. When I’m not rushing him around I enjoy live music and attend gigs regularly with friends.

David Rankin

Service Centre Manager

I work out of the Bristol office, where we manage WPA projects across the Southwest and Wales.

I initially joined WPA as an operative in 2011, progressing on to contracts manager in the London office. After a short period with another national company, I returned to WPA in June 2018 as Service Centre Manager for the Bristol office.

My new role with WPA offers lots of diversity. I work closely with all members of the Bristol & London teams, and am involved in all areas of the business from initial tender, through to project delivery. I like to think that my past 30 yrs experience, allows me to offer the required levels of support and guidance to the wider Bristol team, whilst still developing my knowledge in this new exciting role.

Danny Holman

Contracts & Operatives Manager

I have been working at WPA now for approaching 2 years.

Previously I worked for a large national roofing company where I was Head of the  maintenance division and was responsible for managing  around 100 staff reporting directly to the CEO

I really enjoy working at WPA mostly for the team I work with, but also for the variety of jobs that we get to manage. WPA work with some blue chip clients so the roofing contracts we get can be on some high end buildings

Outside of work I like to spend time with my family, I manage my sons football team and train young underprivileged kids boxing in order to help keep them off the streets and try to better their life.  I enjoy holidays and also like to play golf now and then

Colin Henderson

Finance Director

I’m based at the Glasgow Service Centre, which was where the company started in 1987 and retains the majority of the Head Office and support functions.

I joined in 2001, so have been with the company over 17 years.  Prior to joining, I trained as a Chartered Accountant and worked in the accountancy profession for a number of years.

Gareth Hourihane

Senior Surveyor

I have been working for Weatherproofing Advisors for almost 8 years.

Before joining WPA I worked for a roofing manufacturer.

What I love about working here is that every roof is different.

Outside of work, I love BBQ’s!
